Dyeing Wool at Home
Last year I signed up for a wool dyeing course with Dyeing Made Easy.
I haven't been too good with keeping up with the monthly box which I've been getting since November, so I'm quite behind!! But a couple of weeks ago I finally started. I learnt simple acid dyeing with vinegar and water. It's amazing, I can dye wool whatever colour I need and I'm really enjoying how simple it is.

All you need for this certain technique is an old saucepan, mini spoon for measuring dye powder, small plastic measuring cup with handle, acid dye in colour of your choice, distilled vinegar, some wool to dye and a spare hour or so. It's so simple and satisfying.

I'm really looking forward to moving on with the course but this first box has been brilliant and I've now got all the colours I need for a project I had in mind. Hopefully it will spur me on to move forward with the course and create some more amazing yarn using lots of different dyeing techniques. Check out Dyeing Made Easy if you'd like to do your own wool dyeing masterclass but maybe be a bit better than me at keeping up 😂
